Maximize Compatibility

So a friend of mine has like an iphone 11 i think, but he doesn’t have the maximize compatibility, and we’ve looked and apple support says maximize compatibility is only available on 12s or newer and not anything like the xr, 11, or se, but i have an xr and an se and both have this option
