Pasting Arabic from google to notes is not working in iOS17.4

Since upgrading to iOS17.4 the issue started.

After copying Arabic text from google doc or google sheet, when I try to paste it in notes or in a shortcut the text become just weird symbols

the google files were not changed and they were working perfectly before iOS17.4

pasting the same text to other applications like whatsapp works fine. I paste the text to whatsapp, then copy it and paste it into notes, that’ll work

but I need to use shortcuts

Potential Workarounds:

  1. Copy-Paste via Whatsapp: As you mentioned, copying the Arabic text to Whatsapp first and then pasting it into Notes works. This is a good temporary workaround.
  2. Dictation: Use dictation on your iPhone to enter the Arabic text directly into Notes. This might be faster than the Whatsapp method for short pieces of text.

I am can see a few of these issues earlier to iOS 17.4 too. -->

Where were the Notes? See the pic below. You will get your answer

The various options that you are referring ("the second text menue") to will exist only if your Notes are on iCloud or the "On My Phone" Folder.

The 2 pics below are self-explanatory.

If you're missing notes on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Notes are always synced through Google, iCloud, AOL, Exchange, Outlook, Yahoo or any Other email Account

Any data on your device that isn't synced regularly will be stored in your iCloud Backup. With Backup turned on, iCloud takes periodic snapshots of this data to make sure it's easy to restore any time you get a new device. Between syncing and backing up, all of your data is kept safe in the cloud.

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. Pasting Arabic issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone pasting functions.
