Problems posting jpgs on Facebook

This should be very easy, but I just wanted to post 2 small jpg images on my Facebook page.

The photos were taken by my wife last night and Airdropped to my laptop.

When trying this, it takes ages and comes up with a message something like:

'your files can't be uploaded 2LKiyt.HEIC'

This is despite the fact that I have deleted the HEIC files.

Any responses are appreciated.

.heic is an issue outside the Apple ecosystem— (High Efficiency Image Format) this file type became widely associated

with Apple after they chose it as the default file for iPhones and iPads

Select your image where it is saved, Downloads folder if airdropped—>

Finder>File>(hold the option key) Save As .jpeg, .png something more universally accepted

you can move it to your Desktop to make it more convenient to upload...
