Buying an iPhone in US but wanting to add AppleCare+ in the UK

Hi,

I’m going on holiday to Dallas, Texas and wanted to take the opportunity to buy an iPhone 14/15 for cheaper than in the UK.

However I have heard that this comes with complications, firstly will it work with any UK SIM card, or are they eSim only?

Also, are there any issues with adding Apple care+ in the UK? Any other issues/points with buying an iPhone from the US but using in the UK would be appreciated too.

Thanks!

iPhone 12, iOS 16

Sorry, you can’t do that. The warranty, and AppleCare+ are only valid in the US for a device that was originally sold in the US.

All US iPhone 14 and 15 models are eSIM only. There is no physical SIM slot.

If you intend to use it in the UK, buy it in the UK.
