Podcast app just unfollowed all my podcasts by itself

This morning all of my followed podcasts were gone from the podcast app on my iPhone 13 Pro (iOS 17.3.1). Assuming it was a device issue or Apple backend issue I opened the podcast app on my iPad that I infrequently use (iPad Air 5th Gen, iOS 17.3.1). Right before my eyes I watch the iPad app load the new podcasts I’ve been following, then one by one it unfollows all of the podcasts.

Frustrated I went and found the one I wanted to listen to manually. After the episode had finished playing the app wanted to play an episode from a podcast that I had followed but the app had removed.

I've looked through this forum and this appears to be an issue going back to 2021 that Apple still hasn’t fixed. Does anyone have any tips for resorting my podcast?

This is extremely frustrating having come back to this app after Stitcher was discontinued, and seeing that it’s been a common issue that Apple still hasn’t address.
