Playing background sounds and adding mouse effect on macOS Monterey.

I am interested in adding background sounds to my Mac. I wanted to add music to the background and add mouse click sound effects. I've looked up many times on the internet how to do this and all answers point to System Settings>Accessibility>Audio>Background sounds. However, when I follow this, there are no options for "Background Sounds". I even searched in the search bar on my System Preferences (cause the word "System Settings" does not exist on my mac either, only "System Preferences" exists) and "Background Sounds" does not exist. What happened? Did apple discontinue this preference setting?

My computer is on macOS Monterey Version 12.6.8

According to Apple Support Documentations.

Background Sounds were only introduced in macOS 13 and above

Play background sounds on Mac

Should that not be to the User's liking

Product Feedback - Apple and make it known to Apple regarding issue

Honestly, it is very doubtful if Apple will introduce a New Feature in macOS 12 Monterey which was first released Oct 27, 2021

Edit: I utilized the Shortcuts app to have music play in the background the moment I log into my computer.

Still cannot find background sounds to have a sound effect on mouse click, though. So this is not yet solved.

Thank you for this info! I see what the issue is. It's the difference between my Mac Desktop and MacBook Air. My desktop didn't introduce the newer software, rather, it just kept updating Monterey. Where as my MacBook Air had the newer software already on it when I bought it before getting rid of it. Thank you PRP_53!
