Apple chat with advisor tech issues: failed to stay open with the same advisor

Not exactly sure where else to complain about this, so I’m putting it here. However today for 9 hours I had been trying to solve the issue of getting photos off my phone onto my laptop. I was with a very helpful advisor for hours, who at one stage said they would leave the chat open 48 hours, so if what they suggested didn’t work, I could come back and they would try suggest something else. However after coming back to the chat a couple hours later to say it had not worked, I was not put back through and was met with a bot, and then subsequently a new advisor. The new advisor told me there was no way to be put back to the previous advisor who had helped me for 9h, despite the previous contact still showing open for them, so for some reason there was some technical issue on Apple’s end which resulted in me being unable to be reconnected with this advisor, despite the chat still showing open with them on my new advisors end. As you can understand this was incredibly infuriating after spending so long trying to fix the issue, only to be met with being unable to get back in contact with the same person who was helping me for hours as i should’ve been. Neither advisors were at fault and both very helpful, but having no way to get back to you previous advisor when Apple’s tech is the one at fault for being disconnected, is highly frustrating. There should be a way for a new advisor, if necessary, to be able to reconnect you with the previous advisor. Not having this as an option is unacceptable, as starting with a new advisor is inconvenient and more time consuming. I am disappointed.

Also this was about an iPhone 14 on ios 16.6.1, no idea why it says iPhone 6.

Some background about ASC: Apple Support Communities are user-to-user, and not Apple. The folks that work for Apple may or may not read postings around here. And we don’t have access to chat logs or support calls.

If you’re on an iPhone 14 running iPS 16.6.1, that’s an older version. iOS 17.4 is current.

I might wonder whether this iPhone is on an older iOS version because the iPhone 14 was or is out of free storage. Filling an iPhone can potentially cause issues and corruptions. If there are corruptions, there will be issues getting the data off the device, too.
