Keep in mind that cancelling ANY credit card account is almost always injurious to your own personal credit rating.

It’s almost always best for you to maintain the account and simply use it infrequently.

As far as your mis-delivered Platinum Card: until it is activated by you, it presents little-to-no security risk to you, and is of virtually zero value to any criminal.

You’ll still have full use of your “in wallet” AppleCard as well as your “Virtual” AppleCard number for online purchases.
