Messenger ap is stuck, changing accounts

Hi Everyone, I have a few business accounts that I move between, and my personal account. I was answering a question on messenger from one account, and then tried to switch back to my personal account. but it is stuck. I have the spinning wheel that says "loading" and won't go forwards, backwards, or do anything. tried updating messenger, tried rebooting. messenger still works on my desktop, so just the iPhone that is stuck. Would love some suggestions.
