How to refund Balance from Apple ID back to gift card

There is no means to obtain a refund for a gift card, nor to transfer the balance from a gift card into another gift card. “Gift Cards are not redeemable for cash and cannot be returned for a cash refund (except as required by law); exchanged; resold; or used to purchase Gift Cards.”
