My mac fan control was working just fine, keeping things quiet. I screwed up by clicking on a setting, and now the noise is back
How to I get it to work again ... I don't understand all the settings. My mac dealer help me set it up initially.

You have a problem with the SuperDrive/ODD fan. It is reading 0 rpm in red when the default speed is 1400 rpm.
0 rpm in red means, that either that fan is bad or that the iMac was worked on and the fan was left disconnected.
The HDD fan is set to 2791 rpm and currently running at 2789 rpm when the default speed is 1100 rpm.
Click on Constant value for the HDD fan and lower the speed down to somewhere between 1200 and 1400 rpm.
The CPU fan is currently running at the default speed of 1200 rpm which is good.

Please take and post a screenshot of your MacFanControl panel.
Ok good work, now click on "Show Mac Fan Control" and post that screenshot.
Which exact model is your Mac? Using something like Macs Fan Control should not be necessary.
The Macs Fan Control website does offer an online user guide on how to use this product, but just using it to override your Mac's control of the system fan(s) is not advisable. There may be a reason that they are running at full speed.
OK I see that you have added that screenshot.
Switch the ODD and HDD Fans to Custom, then post another screenshot.
Keep as eye on the temps... I'd never ever adjust the sped downward from Automatic... have you blown the dust out lately?

I don't know if this will post, but it's not letting me post with the screenshot (or at all). Telling me to wait a few minutes. So I'll wait. Getting the same message - is it referring to too many screenshots? What are the posting limits?
Done - I assume those are ideal settings. But ... before I did that, there was no noise.
You know how when you take your car to your mechanic because it's making this funny noise, but when he's looking at it, the car is not making a sound? That happened. It was so loud last night I had to shut it down. I remember now why I messed with it. It was because it was making a tiny bit of noise, when its always very quiet. As soon as I did what I did, the noise started up.
So, right now all is well. Thank you so much for your expertise and help, it's truly appreciated. And apologies for the duplicate post. When I clicked on my subscriptions this morning, it wasn't showing up (no, really).

That is good news. You're welcome.
If it seems like it is getting warm, now you know how to speed up the HDD and CPU fans up a little.
I do need the fan control. Without it, it gets very noisy. The reason, as I said, is because I clicked on something, don't ask me why, and my quiet iMac got very noisy.

A screenshot of what - all the options? I think all I clicked on was "automatic" ... not positive, though.
I have to shut down now for awhile because of the noise. Will check back in a bit. Thanks in advance for any suggestions you may have.
I did, but here it is again. Is this too small - it was taking long to load so I reduced the file size.
