iPhone 13 Pro Camera Issue After iOS 17.4 Update

17.4.1 did not fix the issue for me. And disabling Live Photos was not a permanent fix.

I noticed when Camera app is crashing 100% and I restart the phone then it starts working fine again.

I've since gone to Settings / General / Transfer & Reset / Reset All Settings and so far today I've had no issues.🤞

Try turning off Live Photos in top right of the Camera app. Does it improve the crashing? Does for me.

When I disable Live Photos some of the photos still don't get created and the app seems unresponsive and laggy at times, but the photo gets created some of the time and the app doesn't crash as much.

I tried few other things such as disabling Location for the Camera app and nothing else worked at all.

Same here. iPhone 13 in my case.

I thought it was due to installing the 17.4 so I reloaded iOS 17.4 from scratch. At first it worked ok, but now it’s back to crashing about 90% of the time.

I've also had this happening to my camera, same issue with not being able to use the lowest magnification, and the pictures are somewhat unfocused. I have an iPhone 13 Pro Max and this issue occurred after the last update of 17.4.1, and now I'm also getting an error message that the camera is not a genuine Apple part. Of course, I haven't opened nor fixed my phone ever. Also, the warranty is expired so it'll cost up to $600.00 to have the camera fixed, when it shouldn't be this complicated if it's a known issue.

Few observations.

I'm only using Photo mode.

• This crash only seems to happen with the back cameras (both on iPhone 13).
• When I have the phone plugged into my Mac trying to collect logs, when I take a photo and the Camera app crashes, the USB also disconnects--the logging stops in Apple Console and the computer makes a noise as if the USB was disconnected 🤷‍♂️

I am really irritated with Apple these days. I would never have updated my phone phone to the latest software which they basically force you to do if it would have screwed up my camera which it has. The entire reason I got this phone was so that my 13 max Pro camera would be better than the other choices out there and now when I try to zoom in the picture is unfocused it looks like a watercolor color

I’m having the same issue as well and my Face ID barley works now too
