Why does Apple keep locking my account?

Every few days, I get one of those messages on my ipad or my itouch where apple claims some reason for me needing to sign in again. I sign in and my account is immediately locked and I have to go through the process to unlock it. Then I have to sign in on all my devices again. A few days later, the whole process happens again. It's driving me crazy. Anyone have any advice on why this keeps happening and how to make it stop?
