Huge data spikes on both my phone and my wife’s in less than one day

Yesterday, I had used .86GB of cellular data and my wife had used .38. By 7:18PM today, it shows she had used 42GB and I had used 16GB. There was no change in usage patterns and no change in settings. We are both on 17.3.1. My phone shows data usage of over 4GB for Google maps, 2.5GB for system services, and even 300+ MB for Microsoft Teams which I have not used in over a month. We were on a hotel WiFi today for some period, she longer than I. It showed us connected to WiFi throughout. I have WiFi assist turned off on my phone. Any ideas?

Can’t find a way to delete the post. Ignore it for the time being. I misunderstood the cellular usage totals on my iPhone and thought they reset with each billing period. They do not. So I am comparing apples (my cell service statistics) with oranges (my phone’s reported usage). Sorry for the confusion.
