i have a new iphone, i want to keep it separate from data and photos on my current iphone. do i need to set up a new icloud account?

I have a new iphone, and want to keep my old one with photos and data, but not migrate these to the new iphone. do i need to disconnect my old phone from icloud or create a new icloud account for my new phone and all my other devices?

can you have multiple users under 1 icloud account?

you can have more devices on the same appleID like for an ipad and iphone and so forth

but if one rely on icloud for contacts and calendar and the likes then they will be synced, but you can delete apps on devices without them being removed on others

if it was me then if they really need to be separate then I would make 2 appleID's and then setup family sharing between the two so you can get paid apps and such without paying twice
