Touchscreen on Iphone X stopped working and there are no signs of physical or liquid damage

The battery on my phone died, and when I plugged it in and it restarted, the touchscreen wouldn't work. The screen and volume buttons worked like normal, but I couldn't swipe up to unlock it or touch anything else. I tried force-restarting it using the volume button method but it didn't help. I took the case off and there were no signs of physical damage at all. What could the cause be and how can I make my phone work again?

Hello,

Let it charge for a little while. Then:

Press and quickly release the volume up button.
Press and quickly release the volume down button.
Press and hold the side button until you see the Apple logo (could be as long as 30 seconds)

The timing is a little critical, you may have to try it several times. See this for more detail:
