iPad Air is requesting a passcode after a full reset

I reset my iPad Air to give to my husband and when it rebooted it goes to the “hello…” screen locked and my former Lock Screen code no longer works. What do I do now? The device is also removed from my “Find My:” so I can’t access it there either. Thanks

If preparing an iPad for reuse by somebody else, you need to properly prepare the iPad. The correct process removes the Activation Lock that associates the iPad with your own AppleID account:

What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

If you have not removed the Activation Lock, prior to manually removing the iPad from your AppleID account, you'll need to set-up the iPad again with your own AppleID - and then perform the correct process.

When done properly, your husband should have no difficulty performing a fresh setup with his own AppleID credentials.
