If I mark a device as lost but it isn't actually lost, what happens?
I've had a device stolen but I'm not sure which it is in my find my list. If I mark the wrong one as lost, will it stop that working?

Not a problem. When you attempt to use that device, it will have been marked as lost and you won't be able to use it until you turn off "Lost Mode": Turn off Mark as Lost in Find My on Mac - Apple Support
