Can't remove card from Apple Wallet on iPhone SE

The method described in Update your cards in Apple Wallet - Apple Support

does not work. There is no "More" (...) button. I can de-select it, but I can't remove it.

In the Wallet app, tap the card that you want to remove.

Tap the More button, then tap Card Details.*

Scroll down and tap Remove Card.

in Settings/Wallet, there is an add card option. Then a “Previous cards” option, which shows my old card.

I don’t want my old card there. There doesn’t seem to be a way to remove it. I was looking fore a “more” option, but it makes sense that it wouldn’t appear in an add function.

I’m also bothered that I don’t seem to have any sort of disable option for the Apple Card. In fact, an Apple Pay screen comes up if I do a certain move on the phone that I can’t remember. I don’t want that either.
