Sharing iCloud Notes not "Sync this iPhone" on Cellular network anymore?

iOS Version 17.3.1

Settings >> [Name] >> iCloud >> Notes >> "Sync this Phone" (Confirmed Turned ON)

Troubleshooting Completed to Date

  • I have already Disabled Toggle >> Deleted iCloud Notes from my phone and Enabled Toggle to redownload all my shared iCloud notes
  • Already double checked the specific Shared Note permissions to ensure the other users have the correct permissions

STR:

  1. Ensure iPhone is not on a Wi-Fi network
    1. AT&T Network 5G Full Bars
  2. Open Notes App
  3. Edit Shared Note

Expected Result: Other user should see the note being updated in real time, as well as see the updates after I have made changes to the shared note.

Actual Result: Shared user does't see any updates on the Notes app until I connect to a Wi-Fi network

Am I missing something? Before this iOS version, I could update shared notes on a cellular network as much as I wanted and it would instantly be visible to everyone sharing the note?!?!?!

1. AT&T Network 5G Full Bars

Seeing full bars on your phone with an AT&T 5G signal doesn't necessarily mean you're connected to the internet.

Here's a breakdown of why that might happen:

  • Signal Strength vs. Data Connection: The bars indicate signal strength for voice calls, not necessarily data access. You can have a strong signal for calls but a weak data connection, resulting in slow or no internet.
  • 5G Coverage: While 5G is expanding, it's not everywhere yet. You might be in an area with limited 5G coverage, causing internet connectivity issues.
  • Network Issues: Sometimes, there could be temporary network congestion or technical problems at the cell tower impacting data connectivity despite a strong signal.
  • Plan Limitations: Your AT&T plan might have data limitations or restrictions on 5G access.

Here are some things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

  • Check your data plan: Make sure you have an active data plan with AT&T that includes 5G access (if applicable).
  • Restart your phone: A simple restart can often refresh the connection and resolve temporary glitches.
  • Enable Airplane Mode and turn it back off: This can sometimes reset the network connection.
  • Check for software updates: Ensure your phone has the latest software updates, which might include improvements to network connectivity.
  • Contact AT&T support: If none of the above work, contacting AT&T support can help diagnose the problem and find a solution.
