I accidentally bent an iPhone battery

Basically, I tried replacing my old iPhone battery, but it ended up bending in half. The phone has not been charged in 3 months. Will the battery catch on fire?

Quite possibly it could. I would never use a deformed battery, especially one that was bent in half, you're just asking for a disastrous outcome.

Yes, lithium batteries can hold a charge for quite a while.
