Adjusting the position of Dock on my MacBook with macOS Sonoma

so if the dock is positioned to the side (either left or right) it will only appear on the main screen, given that the arrangement is top or bottom. but if the arrangement is side by side, if you position the dock to the right, then it will only appear in the right display, and vice versa. is there a work around with that where i want the dock to appear at the side of the screen, in the screen i currently selected/working with? if there's none currently, then the dock settings is not really ergonomic/multi tasking friendly since i have to keep hovering my mouse to the screen where it's currently showing. i hope apple makes an update regarding this issue.
