How can I turn of “type to Siri” and turn on the voice command so Siri responds when I pick my phone up and say “Hey Siri?” My granddaughter “helped” me last night on my iPhone 15 Pro Max and when I push side button and say “Hey Siri” I get a space to “type to Siri.”

Go to Settings>Accessibility>Siri>Type to Siri and turn it off.
FYI: I didn't know how to turn this off, either. I figured this out by typing "Type to Siri" in the search bar in Settings. Something to try the next time you get stuck.
