how to deactivate iphone from Find my without waiting a month

Hi!

So my iphone is unresponsive to touch, today ive tried to go in service centre, they said i need to turn off Find my.

The problem is, when ive tried to turn off, the banner says it will be deleted from Find my after in a month. Now I'm stuck, service center refused to take my phone while Find my is on.

How can I remove my iphone from Find my without waiting a month? I cant be a MONTH without a phone.

iPhone 14 Pro Max, iOS 17

I am in the exact same situation. Multiple contacts with Apple support and local approved Apple service provider. Device doesn’t turn on. They can’t do any service or replacement until device is removed from Find My. Since remove device was selected on iCloud on March 19th, it continues to indicate the device will be removed on April 19th. Apple support tells we they have elevated the case as high as it can go and the only solution is to wait a month until device drops off Find my, then it can get serviced. That is obviously a ridiculous answer.

This must be a new, inadvertent issue created by implementation of updated theft protection protocols. I have remotely removed devices in similar situations in the past and never had to wait a month for the device to be removed. I guess when they realize the effect the changes have on people trying to undergo repairs, Apple can fix this issue. But I doubt that will happen in time to help me.
