Why is it that virtually ever spell check that comes back with “no recommendation” can be searched on “Look up” and the correct spelling is ascertained.

iOS Autocorrect is suggesting incorrect spelling iOS keeps suggesting incorrect spelling for ordinary words. This is one of many examples: iOS is suggesting that my correct spelling of “insurance” should be changed to “insirince,” a nonsensical word not found in any dictionary on earth. This happens frequently with a number of other common English (US) words. Baffling and frustrating. I’ve reset my language multiple times, cleared out all autocorrect settings and saved autocorrect words, enabled and disabled spell check, etc. and am still at a loss. Is there something I’m missing or is iOS autocorrect just terrible?

Why is autocorrect offering replacement of clearly misspelled words?? I am regularly fighting an automatic highlighting of a correctly spelled word, to what I assume was perhaps an original fat fingered spelling. e.g. Working in apple mail app I am proofing an email phrase is “if needed” I was trying to change “if” to “as” and if I touch to put my cursor after if (to delete “if”) it instead instantly auto highlights “needed” and offers a change to “meedwd” Why on earth would autocorrect regularly be offering a suggested change to clearly misspelled words? And why is that highlighting activated when my cursor isn’t even touching that word? I do not want to entirely lose autocorrect but ever since update a few weeks (months?) ago this new phenomenon has been driving me nuts. On iOS 17.1.1

Spell check weirdness: some words seen as wrong sometimes but not others? Sometimes, for some words, they're marked wrong sometimes but not other times. Also, sometimes for these words, if you right-click on them, there is no option to learn or ignore the word. Let me give you an example of the first problem here: And as for the second problem, when I right-click on say "Harmen" in the "Why, Harmen, why" sentence above, there is no option to ignore/learn.
