I'm currently in Italy.
More importantly: to what country is your Apple ID account set? That determines your ‘Home Country’ for Apple and also the Store region. The Italian Store version doesn’t have French audio, but instead English and Italian:
E.g. for the Swiss, the situation is more fragmented: German, French, Italian as 3 separate Store items.
E.g. for France, this title has two audio tracks to choose from: French and English.
The description may be in English if you set your device to English interface and an English language description is available for that title. It is not an indication for the audio tracks.
What is your country or country-like region? Audio track languages may differ by country, as the supplying studio sees fit.

well, thanks anyway... I'm currently in Italy. Fact still is: in the buying process one has zero clue what language will pop up after the BUY - the short descriptions are all in English. This is not adequate and I asked for refund (and I see online that many complain about the exact same thing...

ok thanks again. My device is regsitered in the Swiss -German region....
But all I'm repeating: AppleTV MUST COMMUNICATE - and this is not negotiable for me - during the normal BUY process , prior to the payment WHAT I AM ABOUT TO BUY - including in what language. This is not the case at all - and that's why many people complain exactly about this very same story. You explanation about the complexities of "stores" underscores that AppleTV (providers) MUST comply with such a rule! It is just exactly like buying a travel ticket instead of a movie ticket online.. or rent a car online... of course: customers get this final info prior to BUY to confirm they understand what they buy.

but it is not acceptable that language of description during the buying process is English but the product sold is French, without any notice at all and without the option to change...

I rented OPPENHEIMER on AppleTV - but it was delivered in FRENCH - I did not OPT for this. THere is though no option to change the language during the streming... Nino
