Peores not working on iPhone 15 pro

So when I first got the iPhone I tested out ProRes it work but when I switched to 60 fps ProRes it said I needed an external drive as I expected. But when I tried turning back to 30 or 14 fps it still showed the same error. I factory reset my iPhone and it still didn’t work. I also bought an external drive to try and fix it but the files app requinised it but the ProRes still wasn’t working. I was looking forward to using ProRes and I am on the latest software this has been happening for a month or two.

It sounds like you've gone through some troubleshooting steps already.

Here are a few things to try:

  1. Check ProRes Settings: Record ProRes videos with your iPhone camera
    1. Open Settings > Camera > Formats.
    2. Ensure Apple ProRes is toggled on.
    3. Verify the ProRes Encoding option is set to HDR or SDR (not Log).
  2. Verify External Drive Compatibility: Connect external storage devices to iPhone
    1. Make sure your external drive meets Apple's requirements:
      1. Minimum speed of 220MB/s read/write.
      2. Supports USB-C connection.
      3. Formatted to exFAT (you can reformat on a computer using Disk Utility on Mac or similar tools on PC).
  3. Re-connect External Drive:
    1. Eject the external drive properly from the Files app.
    2. Disconnect it from your iPhone.
    3. Restart your iPhone.
    4. Re-connect the external drive and ensure it's recognized by the Files app.
