Mac with macOS Mojave freezes

My Mojave 2012 Mac keeps freezing for periods of time. The last freeze was about 15 minutes long!

I found another thread that matches my problem exactly:

warmd hogging processor 100% - Apple Community

The warmd has been hogging 100% CPU off and on a lot for me since I installed MalwareBytes. The freezes started more recently.

The last time I uninstalled MalwareBytes, I saw another CPU hogging afterwards. I’ve uninstalled it again now though; hopefully it will help some.

Does anyone have any other ideas on what could be causing this or how to fix it?

warmd controls caches used during startup and login.

I'd suspect possible Disk problems to start with.

Try one of these two…

It may be wise to run SMART Utility to check the drives' health.
