Mail Smart Mailbox not working -

Today & Yesterday most notably - some mails dismissed if one of them is deleted. Some that stay have rules, others that stay do not - I cannot find the rhyme or reason. This is occurring on my MAC Mini M2 - Sonoma 14.4

Smart Mailboxes not working consistently This past week, my smart mailboxes starting having no contents. Both on my desktop (Mac Studio Ultra, running Ventura 13.6) and laptop (Macbook Pro M1, running Ventura 13.5). But the pattern is odd... "Today" will be empty, and maybe "Yesterday" is empty. "This Week" became empty this morning, on Sunday (so new week). Completely closing mail and then reopening did not make a difference. Deleting and recreating the smart mailbox made no difference. A full reboot seemed to resolve the problem... at least temporarily. I've seen some other posts about this, with earlier Ventura upgrades, with no specific resolutions or explanations of cause. Thoughts?

Mail Rules Disappear I have a new MacBook Air M2 running Ventura 13.3.1 (a). Every time I quit Apple Mail or restart the MacBook my Rules disappear and I'm left with one rule: News From Apple. If I delete "News From Apple" and create a new rule, when I quit or restart the same thing happens. I've tested in Safe Mode, same thing. I've seen a few others ask this question here, but I haven't seen any solutions. I lost about 10 rules when I migrated from my old MacBook Pro to the Air, I thought it was isolated, but alas the problem persists.
