Here's an explanation of why the link might be corrupt and taking you to Safari instead of the App Store:

  • Corrupted Link: A link is made up of code that tells your device where to go on the internet. If that code is damaged or incomplete (corrupted), it can malfunction. In this case, the corrupted link might be missing the specific instructions to take you to the App Store and is defaulting to opening in Safari, your device's web browser.
  • Misdirected Link: It's also possible the link was simply created incorrectly. The developer who made the link might have accidentally pointed it to the wrong location or used the wrong format for an App Store link.
  • App Not Available: In some rare cases, the link might be trying to take you to an app that's no longer available in the App Store. In this scenario, Safari would be the default landing page.

Here are some additional points you might consider mentioning:

  • Look for alternative links: If you know the name of the app you're trying to download, you can try searching for it directly in the App Store.
  • Report the broken link: If you encountered the link on a website or app, let them know the link isn't working properly. They can then fix it for future users.
