numbers worksheet view "shrunk" really small, why
using numbers, I may have inadvertently hit a key that changed the size to very small, tiny table filled with data. why? how to correct?

You've probably zoomed out. Pinching on a trackpad will do that. You simply need to zoom in again. Pinch out. Or use the Zoom % control at the left end of the toolbar.
