I am trying to find my Powerbeats pro but find my is not helping?

I lost my PowerBeats pro on a vacation to New Hampshire but when I looked on find my it showed them at a place where I know they would not be.

Sorry about you losing your PowerBeats. Similar to the Apple AirPods or even the Apple AirTag, the PowerBeats don't actually know their location. Instead they depend on the Apple Find My Network that consists of literally millions of iPhones to relay the PowerBeats ID, along with the phone's GPS location to the Apple servers over the Internet. That is where you get the location updates with the Find My app on your iPhone.

The problem is a number of things must be true to get those updates:

  • The PowerBeats must still be charged and not in their carrying case.
  • An iPhone must be within Bluetooth range (~30-40') to receive the tag's ID info.
  • That phone must have an active Internet connection.

So, how is it possible that you are seeing a location, but not one you expected? Most likely they were found and moved to that location over time. Should a phone be nearby at that location, with the previously mentioned condition satisfied, it sent that info to Apple
