I am holding the opt key when I start laptop but windows is not coming up

MacOS partition stopped appearing on MacBook Air I have 2 partitions on my MacBook one for macOS and the other for Ubuntu, however the macOS one is not showing up on boot, I know it’s still there because I can see it in Ubuntu but I can’t boot into it, anyway I can fix this? How to fix Bootcamp Windows Partition not showing in iMac running High Sierra Hi everyone. I apologize in advance for my bad English but I am Italian. I hope you can help me because I have consulted all the discussions and I can't find a solution to my problem. I have an iMac mid 2011 macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 I created a 163.97 GB partition on which I installed Windows 10 pro. The installation was successful. I have updated Apple Software Update and installed all the latest updates. I restarted my PC via bootcamp switching to macOS. In macOS I restarted the PC and pressed the command key but the bootcamp partition with Windows is not present. In macOS the bootcamp volume is present and visible. In Startup Disk the bootcamp volume is present and selectable. When I select bootcamp and restart the PC there is a black screen that remains forever. How can I make the bootcamp volume appear with Windows when I press the command key? Thank you all. [Re-Titled by Moderator]

Do you have an Intel Mac or an Apple Silicon M-series Mac? This is very important since startup options are completely different between them.

It might also help to know why you are trying to boot from other media. Sometimes the problem you are trying to solve may also be affecting other aspects & behavior of the Mac. And what type of bootable volume are you hoping to find & boot?

FYI, you should always provide the exact model of the device and version of OS being used. You can get this information by clicking the Apple menu and selecting "About This Mac".
