MacBook Air. when i close a Numbers worksheet [file ->close], this action always exits Numbers. Then to open another Numbers worksheet I have to open the numbers icon again. is there a better way?

On the Mac File > Close (or command-w) closes the window but does not quit the application.
Numbers > Quit (or command-q) quits the application.
If you see different behavior than perhaps you as third party utility applications installed that change the default behavior?

On the Mac:
File > Close or command-w closes a window but leaves the app running.
Command-q quits the app.

this provides the same response on my MacBook. MacBook> file >close, is same as command>w. gives same result > quitting Numbers
Is there a way to close one Numbers document without closing entire Numbers application?
