The Apple TV 4K (1st generation) was discontinued in April 2021. It is only available if you buy from a previous owner (or maybe a commercial reseller). It was originally sold with the back Siri Remote.
The Apple TV 4K (3rd generation) are the current models. They are available to buy from Apple right now. It is sold with the silver-gray Siri Remote (3rd generation), which also has swipe functionality, although slightly different (clickpad instead of glass touch surface).
All Siri Remotes are compatible with Apple TV HD (4th generation) or 4K models. It is fine to buy the black Siri Remote (from a third party reseller) to use with any of the 4K models Apple TV box. You can swap remote models as you see fit. You will need to pair replacement remotes.

Apple TV 4K (1st generation) is still supported, as are Apple TV HD (4th generation) and Apple TV 4K (2nd or 3rd generation) for new tvOS system software. There have not been announcements about changes in tvOS supported devices. Apple has the practice to technically support most devices until 5 years after discontinuation of the model. That would bring an expected run for this model to at least April 2026.
I would advise the latest model for the best current and future feature support. If you like the black remote better than the bundled remote, then you can use that instead.
