Big Sur to Sonoma on MacBook Pro 13-inch M1 2020

I've tried to install Sonoma two times in the past two days. The first time, I got a failed message mid download so I tried again. After taking nearly 2 days to download the full 13.62gb, I got a message: package "%@ missing". Installation failed again and I need to do it again but is there something I should do to have more success?

If you can, try doing the download in a location with a better internet connection.

Two days is very slow, and could indicate an unstable connection; it does seem that the download was corrupted, and I would not want to go through such a long download again, risking the same problem.
