Face recognition for password works with photos

My son was curious if a picture of him would open his iPhone. I took a photo of him and held it up in front of his locked phone. The phone opened. Does anybody know if this is a known security issue? How do you report something like this?

Was he nearby? If he was in view of the camera that is what unlocked it. For a real test have him leave the room, lock the phone, then see if it will still unlock. Face ID has been widely tested with photos, and they don’t work to unlock iPhones.
