Mirror front camera toggle has no effect

I can't reply to this post but I think I have found the solution to the original person that posed this question.

You must deselect the mirror front camera in settings, you will not see a difference on your phone screen before you take a picture but after the picture is taken then the software will flip the image so the picture is not mirrored.

Hope this helps.

Mirror front camera toggle has no effect

Hi there,

A few months ago I tried to take a selfie of myself wearing a shirt that had text on it - and due to the way the front-facing camera works, the text appeared mirrored. I looked online and found that there is a toggle in the settings app to mirror the front camera. Toggling this, however, had no effect on the front camera. Today I tried to do the same thing, and it still doesn't mirror the image. I've tried to switch the toggle a few times, looking at what the picture looks like in each setting but it appears to have no change on my pictures. I even tried factory resetting my phone to see if that would work, and that didn't solve the issue either. Perhaps there's a conflicting setting somewhere causing my issue? Do I misunderstand what this setting does?

Note: I also tried on a friend's iPhone SE(gen 2) and it didn't work on that device either."

You are absolutely right!

This is the functioning mechanism: the display does not mirror the image, but rather, the photo captured by the camera is mirrored. When you activate the 'Mirror Front Camera' feature, it flips the image before saving it. In essence, enabling this feature ensures that the captured image appears as if reflected in a mirror, rather than preserving its original orientation
