Update pop-up for iPhone on MacBook

I keep getting the following message when I try to plug my iPhone 13 Pro into my MacBook: "a software update is required to connect to your iPhone." I am suspicious of downloading an update using this prompt, because I usually get an update notice for my iPhone via the Music App on my MacBook. Both my iPhone 13 Pro and my MacBook are fully up-to-date with any software updates. It seems unusual to get a notice like this when it normally comes thru the Music App. BTW...I have not clicked on the notice. And here is what the notice looks like:

It's understandable to be cautious when receiving unexpected prompts for software updates. In this case, it's possible that the prompt you're seeing is for a required update for the iTunes or Finder software on your MacBook, rather than for your iPhone itself.

I would recommend checking for updates for iTunes/Finder on your MacBook by opening the App Store and navigating to the Updates tab. If there are any available updates for these applications, go ahead and install them.

If you're still experiencing issues after updating your MacBook software, you may want to reach out to Apple Support for further assistance. They can provide guidance on how to safely update your iPhone 13 Pro or troubleshoot any connectivity issues you may be experiencing.
