SMC reset fixes non functioning trackpad+keyboard. Is there a long term solution?

Hello, I have a 2015 MacBook Pro 13 in. whose trackpad and keyboard have stopped working, but a SMC reset will fix both issues after navigating the reset menu with an external mouse. However, it seems I have to perform this reset frequently which can be annoying. Since the SMC reset is fixing the issue, is there a long term solution I can perform through the computer itself, or is this a physical issue related to a trackpad/keyboard cable and will need to be replaced? Thank you

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.7

Most likely the Trackpad IPD Flex Cable is bad which is a common issue when both the built-in Keyboard & Trackpad fail at the same time...the issue can be intermittent. Have an Apple Authorized Service Provider examine the laptop to provide you with a repair estimate to replace the Trackpad Flex Cable.
