Can’t FaceTime with shared Apple ID

Several members of our family share an Apple ID and we’ve always been able to FaceTime each other with no issue u til recently. Now the calls are dropped immediately and it says FaceTime is not available. Call logs are also now shared. It’s very annoying! I assume it’s due to a recent update but I’m just hoping it gets fixed soon.

Sharing an Apple ID has never been recommended by Apple. Recent updates seem to cause some additional failures of features that never were really sanctioned.


Make sure that each family member has a unique Apple ID - Apple Support
