camera showing reflection from light

Hi, When I take a photo of something with a light source in the picture, am i supposed to be seeing a ghost image of that lightsource (mirrored) in the photo. What is this, is it normal? (15 plus)

iPhone 15 Plus, iOS 17

The composition of your photo is very difficult to do when one side of the area is very bright and one area is very dark. This is a normal photographic effect. The reflection would have been readily seen before you took the photo and when photographing difficult to capture settings like you posted, angle the phone differently to the scene and you'll see things diminish or go away completely. There is nothing wrong with your phone.

There's much I can offer you. The composition of what you're photographing is VERY difficult for any camera to capture without reflection. Half of the subject if VERY bright and half is dark. It's a normal reflection, which you may not be able to remove. If you want to get really good at taking such a difficult photo, you'd want to learn how to get into more complex settings on your camera in your iPhone and change the white balance. Otherwise, as a point and shoot subject, what you're taking a photo of is complex and will naturally produce the reflection you are seeing.
