I'm guessing that you mean "MacBook" and "USB Drive." (It took me awhile to work that out.)
How are these pictures stored on your MacBook? How do you view them? Are the pictures stored and viewed with the Photos app?
If you use the Photos app, will you be using a Mac with Photos in the future? Or will you not be using a Mac?
If you use Photos, and you will continue to use the Photos app, then the easiest thing to do is to drag the package, probably named "Photos Library.photoslibrary" from the Pictures folder on the Mac to the USB Drive. To avoid damaging the Photos Library an external drive must be formatted in either APFS format or Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. Additionally, the drive can not have had Time Machine on it since it was formatted. The newest macOSs won't even allow a Library on a non-Mac formatted drive to open, since there is so much background activity dealing with the Photos database. You should see this:
Move your Photos library to save space on your Mac - Apple Support
Once the Library is on the USB drive, you can plug it into a Mac and double-click on the Library icon, and it will open in Photos on that machine.
You haven't said if you are using iCloud to synchronize Photos on your iPhone. If you are using iCloud, then when you plug the USB drive into another computer, you will have to identify this usb Library as your System Library and connect it to iCloud with Photos>Settings.
The steps above will allow you to use the Photos Library in the Photos app. But, If you will not be using a Mac or using the Photos app to view and edit the pictures then do the following, instead:
You will need to Export the pictures to the USB Drive. In Photos on the current MacBook, use the menu "Photos>File>Export>Export Unmodified Originals" to send the original pictures to folders on the usb drive. Then you will have individual files that you can use with other picture viewing apps.
Let us know if I misunderstood your question, or if you need more details with any of the processes...
