How to restore disappeared items in Books?

This morning I added and I deleted some pdf-files in Books. I think I did it all right.

Since then I cannot find all the other pdf-files nor all the books I have since about five (or maybe seven) years. I do have the older books. And I still have the (empty now) pdf-maps in Books I made.

It looks as if I have my Cloud-data from Books from 5 years ago
