Unsupported eSIM issue on iPad Pro (5th generation)
I cannot register eSIM on my iPad Pro (5th generation). It shows below "Unsupported eSIM" message. I've purchased it from the electronic shop not from carrier.
iPad, iOS 10

As stated, the eSIM that you are attempting to activate - presumably using a QR Code - is not suitable for iPad.
The majority of mobile phone eSIM/SIM Cards are not correctly provisioned for use with tablet computers such as iPad. If they work at all, they may not provide access to the full range of cellular services. This is not a limitation of the iPad, but of the Cellular network provider.
If using a physical SIM with iPad, you will require a DataSIM explicitly provisioned for iPad or mobile broadband (a.k.a. MiFi). For eSIM, it must be specifically intended for iPad.

I have the same issue. eSIMs work perfectly with my iPad Mini (6th) and iPad Air (5th), but not with my newly bought iPad Pro (4th).
The same eSIMs work perfectly with any other capable device but not with the iPad Pro. For some reason, physical SIM with the same network works just fine. So it’s not a carrier-lock issue as well.
Probably a bug.
Would try restoring to factory settings but I read another post somewhere that it didn’t help.
Contact your Cellular Carrier. They may need to supply an alternative eSIM for your iPad Pro.

Already did. They can’t figure it out. They said my eSIM should work. Well, it does with other devices.
Tried other carriers and they all don’t work with the iPad in question.
So the problem is really the iPad Pro.
Anyway, it’s still under warranty. Might take it back.
