How do I authorized my new MacBook Pro to download movies?

after setting up new MacBook Air I am told I cannot download movies from my library as I already have 5 authorised computers. How do I find out which computers are authorized.

You are not able to view a list of the Authorized Computers. You have 2 options:

  • If you have access to your previous computers, you can deauthorize that individual device
  • You can choose to Deauthorize All computers, then only authorize the ones you want to use

This only affects the computers you have and not any iPad/iPhone device.

Thank you.

I deauthorised the only computer to which I have access - a relatively new iMac. The Account Information page now tells me that “one machine is authorised to play content purchased with this account.”

In the documentation a button to deauthorise all computers is illustrated. I see no such button and therefore I am unable to deauthorise all. I looked via both TV and Music apps.

Can you tell me how I should proceed from here?

See if the results are the same when you go here:

  • System Settings > [name on top] > Media & Purchases. When signed into that page, under Account, click the Manage button. If you have the Deauthorize All button there, then click it. You should then be able to authorize your current devices again.

If that does not work, it may be a bug that is preventing it. Another user had the same issue and was able to use this technique to solve the problem. Otherwise you may need to contact Apple directly and if they do provide a different solution, please post here.
