Small Green Arrow at my cursor location in text

This little green arrow keeps floating in my text wherever I click my cursor to be. I can't get rid of it in settings. Any advice?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 14.3

that icon indicates that your caps lock key is on. and AFAIK there is not a setting to disable it other than to turn off the caps lock key.

Haha--mind blown. Had never noticed it before in my previous writing. I do use caps lock a bunch, but in years of using Macbook Pros never noticed in my text until the last month or so. Thanks for the feedback!

you're welcome. and FWIW, it is a relatively new feature. it started with Sonoma.
