Devise has not been updated in awhile and doesn’t give me the option to upgrade could you please help me with this

Which device? iPhone, iPad, Watch, Apple TV, iPod, etc…
Which software version is currently loaded?
If your device is not offering a newer software version, the device has quite possibly reached its supported limit, too.
Which device are you trying to update? Assuming you are referring to an iPhone or iPad, what is its current iOS? You said it did not give you the option to update. Exactly what happened when you selected Settings > General > Software Update?
