Battery Draining Fast and Slower Performance on iOS 17.4.1 and previous 17.4 release.

I have an iPhone 13 pro max with a recent Apple store battery upgrade (within the past 12 months). My partner has an iPhone 13 pro. Since updating to 17.4.x we have both experienced accelerated battery drain. I am a computer scientist so this is not a user error.

Also, I have noticed that in Apple mail, when you open the inbox, it takes up to ten seconds for the screen to be populated with emails.

There is clearly a problem here with 17.4.x as demonstrated by the large number of forum users reporting the problem. @apple please fix this!

Er. If two separate users update to the same version of iOS and suddenly start exhibiting the same problem then it is unlikely that it would be external factors. Whether it is the action of doing the update (as you seem to imply), or the update itself, it is still an Apple problem. If you bother searching for similar problem reports on the forum under 'iOS 17.4.1 battery drain' then you will see that there are many other users who have reported the same problem and not just us. I'm sure you mean well with comments such as the one you have posted but I suggest we leave this one to the professionals. The evidence seems pretty conclusive to me. Whether it is the action of updating or the update itself still points the finger to Apple. You seem to be unaware that modern Apple devices automatically backup to iCloud, if the option is set, which ours does. If you are telling me that I need to completely wipe my phone before applying updates then nobody would ever do that - it's an unrealistic expectation, especially given the number of security updates that Apple has applied in recent months.

As I explained in my note, I am a computer professional so of course I have excluded device issues.

It's not always the iOS update's fault! Many things can cause phone problems. If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.

Nah, it’s the update SravanKrA. Quite frankly, it’s the worst one so far. Time to re-think Apple and add some longevity to you very expensive kit.
