Need to condense multiple clips in storyline spaced throughout timeline

I'm new to FCP and likely began the project inefficiently, causing this dilemma. I have multiple videos stacked on top of each other. I have done a lot of splicing to each of the storylines, and will be removing clips throughout. Ultimately, I'm needing these clips to be condensed and connected with each other within each storyline (ie one row of footage needs to have all clips connected to each other, not spaced out on the timeline). However, because these are all connected to the primary storyline, they don't move. I've got almost 500 clips (times four storylines) spread out across the timeline that needs to all shift to the left on the timeline to be all together. Is there a quick keyboard fix to do this so I don't have to manually shift all clips to the left throughout the timeline?

You could do it like this. Select all the connected clips and combine them into a storyline. The storyline will have gap clips to fill the spaces. Go into the timeline index and search for gaps. Select the gaps and delete them. The clips in the storyline will close up. Be careful if you also have gap clips in the primary storyline that you want to keep.

I have no idea whether it's clips connected to the storyline or clips that are adjacent to each other. I don't understand why you would put the clip to the left of the storyline.

If you want to insert connected clips into the basic storyline, you can combine them with option+⌘▼

Here is an example. I have multiple cuts with spaces in between. These clips are connected to the below storyline so they don't just auto move over and connect to the left-adjacent clips on the same row/storyline. Wondering if there's a way to shift all clips in a row/storyline all the way over all at once without having to manually move each clip one at a time.

You write that there are four storylines. But what you're describing in the diagram just refers to connected clips, not storylines.

What does the connecting clip in the diagram have to do with the storyline you first described? I'm getting more and more confused.
